The Vintage Gamer #6: Diplomacy (BG)

Posted by: Jim   in Board games, Podcasts

This week, I cover Allan Calhamer’s (in)famous game Diplomacy, once published through Avalon Hill and currently published by Hasbro through its Avalon Hill line (not quite the same thing).

Show notes:

  • Thanks to Have Games, Will Travel and Gaming Uncensored
  • Rules for standard Diplomacy
  • Some variants on the standard rules and board
  • General Diplomacy strategy
  • Ways to play
  • My Diplomatic history
  • Next week: something lighter

Final Thoughts:

In reviewing the final recording, I realized that I forgot to mention some other members of the Realpolitik team, so I’d like to give all of them credit here. Many thanks to:

  • Lucas B. Kruijswijk
  • Ben Hines
  • Don Hessong
  • Simon Haines
  • Ronnie van ‘t Westeinde
  • Peter Steiner

Ronnie is also the creator of Palmpolitik.

Thanks! No one has ever come to blows in any game I’ve played…. maybe you live in a rougher neighborhood.
